Why a Psychology Degree from 精东影业?

How do we make decisions? What motivates us? Why do certain smells evoke good memories? How do children learn? Why do we experience nostalgia? Grief? Prejudice and discrimination? If you like to ask yourself these questions, you’re thinking like a psychologist.

As a psychology major, you’ll explore all things about the brain and our behaviors. You’ll ask yourself big questions, delve into research and begin to understand the growing literature concerning our emotional, cognitive, and social lives. You’ll work alongside faculty who are both practitioners and scholars. You’ll participate in seminars with respected researchers in varying psychological fields. You may even have the opportunity to complete your own original research that is presented at a regional or national conference. You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in a year-long internship that will help you explore your interests. The rigor of your curriculum will make you a competitive applicant for various graduate programs across the country. If you want to investigate the behaviors and experiences that help make us human, you’ll love the offerings of the psychology program.

Advice to Future Dolphins
  • Do anything that will help set you apart, whether you want to go to graduate school or right into employment. The better relationships you have with your professors the more prepared they can be to write you good recommendations during your senior year.

    –Chelsea Gibson
  • I would strongly advise to try everything you can. You never know what you are going to like/dislike until you are actually getting your feet wet doing it. It has been my biggest learning experience!

    –Tiffany M. Mathis
  • My advice to any new students is to really be involved in clubs and any activities especially your first year, it’s so much easier to meet many new people and to become familiar with the campus.

    –Jessica Truman
  • Networking is very important. In order to obtain as many opportunities as possible, being able to have an upper classman contact is helpful because many times they have already been through the same things. I know personally for me, having upper classman contacts opened doors for me regarding clubs as well as service learning opportunities.
